Shadow Work
- What is shadow work?
Coming to terms w| past traumas, events + facing them in order to move forward is shadow work.
Ever feel like you're afraid to speak on a situation because how you judged yourself in it?
We all have choices + sometimes the decisions we make are not always the best. Due to neglecting to confront past events, in some way, shape, fashion or form; those events come back to haunt. The fact that you have chosen not to deal w| it face on, allows the issue to continuously follow you just like your shadow.
One thing for sure + two things for certain is you can run away and hide, but you can't run away nor hide from your shadow self.
You'll know when you're ready to put the work in on shadow when you come to a point where you're strong enough to face your fears head on. Accepting accountability for your actions + using your bravery to charge others for their actions too is a start.
Think of it as your therapy session w| Spirit!

Time to scribe!
What you'll need.
To begin your shadow work, you'll need:
- Privacy (Confronting your deepest, darkest moments will bring upon a lot of emotions. It's best to be alone to get everything out)
- Lighter
- Fire safe bowls (2|3)
- Sage, incense and/or free cleansing herbs
- Candle
- Charcoal
- Loose sheet(s) of paper
- Writing utensil
- A private journal/diary (I recommend getting one w| a lock code instead of a key if others are accessible to it)
Optional:
- Crystals/Gemstones
How it's done!
Step 1: Find a silent area where you can be alone w| no interruptions and ask Spirit to be w| you during this time.
Step 2: Take your lighter and light your sage to cleanse your space + all items you'll be using during this session.
Step 3: Take any loose herbs and put them in a fire safe bowl or on a fire safe surface; and/or
place your candle in front of you; and/or
place your incense in an incense holder near you; and/or
put your lit sage in a fire safe bowl.
Step 4: With your lighter, light your herbs and/or candle.
[Gem: If you have trouble keeping your loose herbs lit, activate (light) a piece of charcoal and sit the charcoal on top of the herbs. This will help keep your charcoal lit for a longer period of time.]
